‘Glee’ character Rachel Berry had a tough decision to make: stay in Ohio with her boyfriend Finn Hudson, or chase her dreams on Broadway. Keep reading to find out why I think she made the right decision.

Glee‘s leading lady, Rachel Berry, has fantasized about moving to New York and becoming a Broadway star since she was a little girl singing Barbra Streisand in her pink bedroom. And then came Finn Hudson and his big brown eyes.

Though the two have had their share of ups and downs, they’ve been rock solid over the last few months — and even got engaged! Originally, Finn had planned on moving to NYC with Rachel, but then she bombed her NYADA audition, leaving her future open-ended.

Sadly, it looks like Rachel’s future won’t include Finn after all. The duo were spotted filming their tearful goodbye on May 9 in Los Angeles. In the emotional farewell, Rachel leaves on a train, while Finn runs alongside waving goodbye.

While it breaks my heart to see the lovebirds part ways, I commend Rachel for following her dreams and not staying in the midwest for a boy. Many young women would not have been so brave. In high school, it’s easy to get wrapped up in love and romance, but Rachel didn’t lose focus. She’s been performing on stage long before she met Finn and she owes it to herself — and her talent — to follow through.

Do YOU think Rachel made the right decision to leave Finn behind?
