Farrah Fawcett's son has finally grown up.

After several years of legal troubles, Redmond O'Neal (whose father is actor Ryan) finally became a free man this week, just in time to show off his new -- and almost unrecognizable -- adult look.

The 27-year-old redhead showed up at a Los Angeles court yesterday looking every bit the mature man, with a newly filled-out face accessorised with some statement facial hair and a slicked-back 'do. According to E! Online, a judge released O'Neal from his sentence for drug and weapon possession upon his completion of a one-year stint in rehab.

He will reportedly live with a sober companion for his first 30 days as a free man and will remain on probation until 2016.

"Redmond has had numerous offers for employment and is considering all of them," his lawyer told RadarOnline. "Redmond will be getting his skateboard and boogie board out of storage, and will definitely be hitting the beach.''

In August 2011, O'Neal faced almost four years in prison after pleading no contest to possessing heroin and a handgun, both of which he was carrying when he was detained at a traffic stop in Santa Monica.

The celebrity son has been in and out of trouble with the law for the past several years. Back in 2008, he and his dad were arrested when cops found methamphetamine in Ryan's home. At the time, Redmond was on three-year probation for charges of drug possession and was ordered by the court to rehab.

We hope Redmond has turned over a new leaf to go with his new look!
