Raj Koothrappali may have some trouble speaking with women on "The Big Bang Theory," but actor Kunal Nayyar is about to celebrate his first anniversary with a former Miss India. Just imagine how many grasshopper cocktails Raj would have needed over the course of the couple's six-day wedding.
Appearing recently on "The Ellen Degeneres Show," Kunal Nayyar revealed details about his marriage to Neha Kapur, who was Miss India 2006.
"They take six days. They can take seven; I think we ran out of money," Nayyar quipped. "One day is the henna festival, one day is the cocktail festival, one day is the actual wedding, then the reception."
He added, "I just wish I could go back to my wedding as a guest."

The couple married in New Delhi in December 2011 in front of more than 1,000 guests that had traveled to attend the extravagant celebrations and ceremonies. Kapur, 29, was born and raised in the Indian city, while Nayyar, 31, was born in London, England, and moved to New Delhi with his family as a child. Kapur, a model signed with Elite Model Management, moved to the United States to be with her new husband following their nuptials — a change that, Nayyar says, is still taking some getting used to.
"If you ever see someone driving on the wrong side of the road, it's probably my wife. She's navigating her way through the mean streets of Los Angeles," he told DeGeneres.
Traditional Indian weddings are well-known for their extravagance, including lots of gold jewelry, highly detailed clothing — and, for Nayyar, a white horse to ride into the temple (which happened to terrify him). But luckily, "The Big Bang Theory" is pulling in record ratings for CBS, for which Nayyar recently thanked all his fans.
"Dear fans, thank you, thank you for this," he wrote on Twitter.
