Journalists protest treatment on Rihanna’s 777 tour

It seems Rihanna may have a lot to apologize for after her 777 Tour.

The 24-year-old "Diamonds" singer kicked off the seven-day tour in Mexico last Wednesday (it ends today in New York) to support her seventh album, "Unapologetic," bringing along 150 fans and journalists from 82 countries for the ride. But it turns out the trip had a lot more turbulence than they were expecting.

According to Fuse's Jason Newman, who was on board the plane, the group revolted on Sunday on the trip from Berlin to London, "fueled by jet lag, too little sleep, insufficient food, airplane liquor bottles, one too many middle-of-the-night flights and frustration at lack of interaction with the singer."

The change in mood came two days after the tour stopped in Toronto, where Rihanna played the Danforth Music Hall and proceeded to get tired 20 minutes into the show, according to Rolling Stone. Rihanna's frequent fliers also got tired -- of not only the travel delays and shortened gigs but the fact that their host, who had made a big show of walking up and down the aisle passing alcohol out to the group on the first day, reportedly disappeared for the rest of the time.

"Crowd chanted 'Just one quote!,' 'I need a headline!' and 'Occupy 777' while Aussie journo stripped naked and ran around the plane," Newman tweeted.

Fuse TV was recording while the mutiny happened, with Esteban Serrano reporting from the scene. "It is absolute pandemonium in this place; everyone is delirious to the point where we are chanting random things," he said. "One guy from Australia has streaked stark naked through the plane."

That would be Australian DJ Tim Dormer, who was writing for the Aussie website Nova and streaked through the aisles after spilling a drink on his lap.

"I ran to the bathroom and I thought everyone is really cranky, the Americans are whinging so I thought I'd have a bit of fun," he told Nova. "I thought Rihanna might like a bit of white bum from a little skinny white boy Timmy from Australia so I thought I'd take my kit off."

Dormer claimed his decision "backfired," though. "Rihanna doesn't like the fact I've taken a bit of the spotlight off her and put it on to me," Dormer admitted. "Word on the street is she's not happy."

The reps for RiRi's record label, Def Jam, eventually told the group to simmer down and sent through some of Jay-Z's D'Usse Cognac, according to Complex's Soo-Young Kim, who was also on the plane.

Though Internet access has been spotty on board, the fliers have had enough access to populate a Twitter account called RihannaPlane, which was recently created to compile the best complaints.

Maybe Rihanna can turn this harrowing experience into a song.
