It's a testament to Jessica Chastain’s overnight shot to stardom that she has starred in a handful of Oscar-nominated movies and a Broadway play, winning countless acting awards along the way – but she hadn’t even been on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" yet!
That changed this week, when the 35-year-old star of "The Help," "Zero Dark Thirty," and "Mama" finally sat down with the popular dancing TV host. And she was really excited. Letting out a girlish squeal as she stepped onto the stage, Chastain danced her way over to DeGeneres and shouted, "I’ve always wanted to meet you!"
Even when sitting down the gushing continued. "I’ve always wanted to meet you. I’m freaking out, you guys!" Chastain exclaimed. DeGeneres echoed the excitement, and explaining she accidentally nearly grabbed Chastain's derriere in the frenzy.

Looks like both of these entertainers could use a lesson in cool. Luckily, Chastain has a bit of experience acting cool in the Oscar-nominated "Zero Dark Thirty." In the film, Chastain plays C.I.A. agent Maya, who refuses to drop the lead that led to Osama bin Laden's death.
"The scene where I just kind of handed [costar] Kyle Chandler his ass, he just keeps telling her 'No' for years and years and years, until finally she says 'Well, if you don’t give me what I want then I'm going to blackmail you, what are you going to do about that?'" Chastain said of her character. "She’s so bad-ass."
Then DeGeneres handed her a pair of aviator sunglasses, "I think when you put these on, I think it helps anyone feel bad-ass."
Leaning back and scowling towards the audience, it looked as if the trick worked. "You just … feel different," DeGeneres said.
"Oh yeah, I feel so much tougher right now," Chastain drawled, completing the “rock the shades” technique with a dramatic take-off swoop.
Both DeGeneres and Chastain may be goofballs in real life, but they can sure turn on the "cool" when they want to. But seeing as Chastain also knows sign language and has a wicked three-legged dog named Chaplin, we have a suspicion that she's already cooler than most of us can ever hope to be!
