Eighties scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis paid tribute to the original scream queen this week. The 53-year-old Curtis attended the Beverly Hills premiere of "Hitchcock" on Tuesday, standing in for mom Janet Leigh, the ill-fated, shower-loving heroine of the classic 1960 horror film "Psycho."

Curtis brought her sister Kelly as her date to see Sacha Gervasi's motion picture about her mom's most famous film, which sees Scarlett Johansson taking on the role of Leigh.

"Scarlett is a wonderful actress," Curtis told at the premiere. "So it will be nice to see her be our mom."

Curtis, who recently stepped out of the spotlight to write children's books (though she recently guest-starred on the Fox sitcom "New Girl") wore a figure-hugging white dress to the "Hitchcock" premiere. The frock was very similar to the white lace off-the-shoulder gown she wore in 1984 to UCLA's Annual SHARE Boomtown Party, which she attended with her mom, not to mention the pale frock she wore to the 1988 premiere of "A Fish Called Wanda," which Leigh also attended.

No doubt the actress was reliving her lifelong stint as her mother's red-carpet date (and vice versa). Before Leigh died in 2004, the duo had appeared together on the red carpet numerous times since the '70s. As early as 1975, when she was just 17, Curtis joined Leigh and Leigh's husband Robert Brandt (Curtis was the product of her mother's first marriage to actor Tony Curtis) at an AFI Tribute to Orson Welles.

Though Curtis was only a toddler when "Psycho" premiered in 1960, she attended an AFI Salute to Alfred Hitchcock in Beverly Hills with her mother in 1979 to toast the thriller's director.

The mom-and-daughter team also happened to appear on screen together in the 1980 slasher flick "The Fog" and in the 1998 horror movie "Halloween H20: 20 Years Later." The last time Leigh and Curtis appeared together on the red carpet was at the premiere of "Freaky Friday" in August 2003.
