James Deen calls Lindsay Lohan a ‘child’

Adult film star James Deen has some not-so-nice things to say about Lindsay Lohan, his volatile co-star on "The Canyons."

“There were days when she would scream and yell and cry and refuse to come out,” Deen, 26, told the Sun, a U.K. tabloid, recently. “In porn I am used to working with professionals who are courteous to others. But Lindsay was like a child lashing out.”

Deen, whose real name is Bryan Matthew Sevilla, began his adult film career in 2004 at the age of 18. Now, he has appeared in over 1,300 movies and is one of the industry’s biggest names. “The Canyons,” directed by Paul Schrader and written by Bret Easton Ellis, is a thriller that follows a group of 20-somethings who become consumed with sex, violence, and deceit in Los Angeles. So although it might be Deen’s first feature, he was comfortable with the sexually explicit scenes he shared with Lohan.

Her own comfort was a different story, as Deen explained.

“I had worked with the other actress countless times and because we were relaxed Lindsay became unnerved. She started to get more and more freaked out … We were all standing round naked and the next thing Lindsay was screaming, ‘Put your clothes on. For the love of God put your clothes on,'” he said, adding that the 26-year-old “Mean Girls” star justified her request because she was “allowed to.” “With that I dropped my towel -- and she stormed off set. She then refused to return until the entire crew stripped.”

This isn't the first time Deen has spoken about this particular incident, but he previously maintained a very diplomatic attitude towards Lohan’s behaviour.

“She has a unique way of communicating. She's a child star who's been living in this fame world being chased by paparazzi. I tried to consider that in every interaction with her, so when she speaks, what could be construed as an insult by some was not necessarily intended to be an insult. It was just her communicating her interpretation of the scene,” he told the Daily Beast earlier this month.

“She was raised in the Hollywood system, so she's used to a certain level of treatment," Deen continued. "Instead of saying, 'Excuse me, could you please pass me the water?' She's used to saying, 'I need water,' and then someone just giving her water.”

But now, it seems that even the levelheaded Deen is letting his true feelings about Lohan come through. He also told the Sun about another unexpected outburst from Lohan, in which she was asked to remove her shoes so that she and Deen would be the same height for a shot. “She was crying and screaming that she was the star of the film,” Deen claimed.

While Deen is a rumoured favourite to play the lead role in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie, Lohan’s attempt to revive her career seems to be faltering. It looks as if her attention-seeking attitude might be the reason she won’t be the star of many movies in the future.
