"Mad Men" star Christina Hendricks became a mad woman during an interview earlier this week.

The 37-year-old actress, who plays femme fatale office manager Joan Harris on the AMC series, took issue with being called "full-figured" during a recent interview with Australia's Sydney Sun-Herald.

"You have been an inspiration as a full-figured woman; what is the most inspiring story you can remember?" fashion editor Kate Waterhouse asked midway through their chat.

Hendricks laughed bitterly in response, shook her head, and said, "Uh, I don't know." She then turned away from the camera and said, "I'm sorry."

Unfortunately, the interviewer didn't get the memo and asked the question again.

"You just said it again!" Hendricks guffawed. "It's just sort of ..."

The actress's rep turned the questions back to what Hendricks was in town for -- to host the launch of SpecSavers' Spectacle Wear of the Year.

According to the newspaper, Hendricks said off camera, "I think calling me full-figured is just rude."

Though she has become a sought-after sex symbol for her spectacular curves, the actress revealed in 2010 that she hasn't always felt comfortable in Hollywood opposite slinkier stars like Jessica Alba.

"It's such a compliment," she told Health magazine of being desirable, "because of all those times I had agents who were like, 'You have to lose some weight,' and all of a sudden, people are celebrating it. It's like: 'Oh, thank you! Thank you for letting me be me.'"
