Chris Brown quits Twitter again following feud with comedian

Followers of Chris Brown know that the 23-year-old rapper has a bit of a temper, and when it flares, it really flares. Judging from his history, he often uses his Twitter account to vent his frustrations, and that occasionally leads to a temporary closure of his account.

Brown's latest departure from the microblogging site came on Sunday after a heated exchange with comedian Jenny Johnson, who has often lobbed stinging jokes shaming his 2009 assault on Rihanna. On Sunday, after Brown tweeted, "I look old as f---! I'm only 23..." Johnson responded with, "I know! Being a worthless piece of s--- can really age a person."

Brown took the bait and fired back, kicking off a series of vulgar tweets from the "Fortune" singer. We won't go into the nitty-gritty of the exchange, mostly because it's inappropriate, but if desired, you can read it in full here. Suffice it to say, it was all very explicit and angry, and in the end, Johnson was the first to throw in the towel.

"Okay. I'm done. All I got from that exchange with Chris Brown is that he wants to s--- and fart on me," she wrote, adding, "I have zero respect for a person who seems unapologetic for the terrible crime he committed and shows no signs of changing."

In an interview with Johnson this past May, the news producer and Twitter star (now with more than 300,000 followers) says she had been harassing Brown for six months already. This must have been Brown's last straw, because it seems he was so riled by the argument that hours after Johnson called it quits, Brown wrote "Just ask Rihanna if she mad??????" and then deleted the account for @chrisbrown.

This isn't the first time Brown has sworn off the real-time social media platform. In late 2009, the same year he was arrested for assaulting Rihanna, he shut down his account @MechanicalDummy after a tirade against Wal-Mart. He accused the big box retailer and others like it of not stocking his album "Graffitti."

"major stores r blackballing my cd. not stockin the shelves and lying to costumers. what the f--- do i gotta do," he wrote at the time. "yeah i said it and i aint retracting s---. im not biting my tongue about s else..." and signed off with, "I wanna thank my fans for all the support. I love yall. Goodbye!!!!!"

But that break from Twitter didn't last forever. Brown later rejoined the Twitterverse, only to be greeted again with criticism for the assault. In November 2011, he had had enough and deleted his account again after, you guessed it, another angry blast of tweets aimed at his "haters."

"Don't say s--- to anybody and everyone feels its cool to attack me. GROWN ADULTS!!!! That s--- happened three years ago," he wrote. "I know a lot of you wack ass (OLD) celebrities probably wanna f--- my ex, but talking sh-- on me wont get you far! and to be REALLY HONEST, ya'll wonder why ni---- spazzes all the time?"

There seems to be a bit of a pattern developing in Chris Brown's Twitter presence. And if the trend continues, we can probably expect Breezy back online sometime in the near future until another "hater" strikes a nerve over his controversial relationship with Rihanna, which looks like it's heating up once again.

On Saturday night, 23-year-old Rihanna posted a photo to her nearly 27 million followers on Twitter, depicting ex-boyfriend Brown lying shirtless on his bed. Though their rekindled relationship has yet to be confirmed, they do seem to be spending an increasing amount of time together, including Thanksgiving in Berlin. If this keeps up, it seems there will be even more reason to spark Breezy-related Twitter feuds, and we'll see how long he can resist getting involved.
