Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian still don’t seem to get along

The dynamics between Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Kim Kardashian would make for a really great sitcom if the four weren't already such major celebrities. Best friends Jay-Z and Kanye, inseparable and at the height of their careers, seemed to have it all when they fell in love with two beautiful, successful women. The only problem: The women get along like oil and water.

Over the Labour Day weekend, the foursome crossed paths at Philadelphia's Made in America Festival, where Jay-Z was performing, with a guest appearance by Kanye. While the guys' friendship made for an exciting show, Bey and Kim reportedly barely said a word to each other, and when they did, it was pretty awkward.

"Beyoncé didn't even acknowledge [Kardashian] was there until the concert was almost over," a source told the New York Daily News. "You could tell Kim was uncomfortable. She clung on to Kanye the entire time and didn't say much."

For the five months that Kim and Kanye have been dating, there's been little love between the Queen of R&B and the Queen of Reality TV. For a while, it looked like they had put rumours of a feud behind them by hanging out backstage at Beyoncé's Memorial Day concert and dancing together at a June "Watch the Throne" concert in England.

But whatever blossoming friendship had begun between the two stars, it seems to have been short-lived. At the BET Awards in July, Beyoncé looked like she was giving Kim the iciest of cold shoulders. To boot, the Grammy-winning new mother recently celebrated her 31st birthday and posted a star-studded birthday card on her Tumblr. Both her mother and Jay-Z's mom signed it, as did Gwyneth Paltrow and Michelle Williams. But there was no birthday greeting from Kardashian and West.

Of course, when you're Beyoncé, you get to be selective about who gets inside your exclusive inner circle. And if she doesn't want to be besties with Kim Kardashian just because their significant others are friends, that's her decision (much to the pleasure of her fans).

Maybe Kim wants to be part of Beyoncé's entourage, or maybe she just wants to be accepted by Kanye's friends. Who doesn't understand the plight of the new girlfriend or boyfriend on the scene, right? Even if slumber parties and gabfests aren't in the cards, we think these two famous femmes can be classy enough to, at the very least, stay civil.
