Abigail Breslin performs her Nicki Minaj impression on ‘The Tonight Show’

We all remember a 10-year-old Abigail Breslin showing off her moves in her Oscar-nominated turn as beauty pageant contestant Olive Hoover in “Little Miss Sunshine.” But now that she's 16, maybe she’s ready for a turn as a judge – specifically on “American Idol,” as a stand-in for judge Nicki Minaj.

Breslin made a guest appearance on the “Tonight Show” with Jay Leno Friday night, during which they discussed her obsession with the reality talent show, now in its twelfth season, and Breslin revealed the “Starships” singer was her favourite expert panelist.

“I love Nicki Minaj. I love her,” Breslin gushed. “I like the fact that she, every time she likes somebody, even if she’s saying something really nice about them, it kind of sounds like an accusation.”

Then the former child star of “Signs” and “Definitely, Maybe” broke out her best impression of The Harajuku Barbie: “You are…a really good singer,” Breslin quipped in her best Minaj voice.

Breslin even got her fellow guest Bill O’Reilly to play the part of Mariah Carey, so that she could show off how Nicki reacts to disagreements from her fellow judges. She just may have found her second Oscar-worthy character.

Breslin and Leno chatted way back in 2009 about her addiction to “American Idol,” so there wasn’t anything shocking about her interview in 2013 – except for the fact that she now looks years beyond her teens! Her blonde locks first appeared as she prepped for the movie “New Year’s Eve” in 2011, but they looked even more glam on the “Tonight Show,” pulled back in a classy half-updo. Paired with bright red lips and a black lace dress, Breslin really showed the world that she is growing up.

Not only has Breslin grown up in her looks, but she’s also tackling more mature film roles, like the upcoming thriller “The Call” costarring Halle Berry, “Ender’s Game” with Harrison Ford and Ben Kingsley, and “August: Osage County” as part of a star-studded cast. She’s also planning on getting into the music business soon (so watch out for real, Nicki Minaj).

How quickly they grow up!
