Who would have thought that the commanding officer of the USS Enterprise was once a petty thief?

William Shatner has now admitted that before he rose to fame as Captain Kirk on "Star Trek" in the '60s, he was "a bandit."

"I stole a bag of candy when I was six," the 81-year-old Canadian actor told ET Canada. "I was in real trouble, and I cried in my father's arms. I was in deep trouble."

These days, Shatner isn't much of a crier, according to Missy Peregrym, with whom he co-starred last night in the Season 3 premiere of the Canadian cop show "Rookie Blue."

"For a guy his age he is such a badass," she told the Huffington Post. "He's really tough. He was getting his a-- kicked and kicking other people's a---s. It was awesome."

A butt-kicking thief? What other secrets is Captain Kirk hiding?
