Raise your hand if you or someone you love left cookies out for Santa on Christmas Eve this year, or even fell asleep on the living room couch waiting for him to come down the chimney. Well, odds are that Brampton, Ont. native Michael Cera did, if only to pay homage to his early acting days with the Pillsbury Doughboy.

Check out this 1999 Christmas TV ad for Pillsbury cookies, which features an 11-year-old Cera sleeping soundly while the Pillsbury Doughboy meets Santa Claus in the flesh.

This isn't the only time Cera joined forces with the tiny white cartoon character with the iconic giggle. In another commercial, Cera and the Doughboy battled a monster made from cookie dough.

Since it was Cera's first acting gig with real lines, you might say that his Pillsbury gigs launched his acting career, which would eventually see him star in box office smashes like "Superbad" and "Juno" and indie favourites like "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" and "Young in Revolt."

Now 24, Cera's most memorable role continues to be the painfully awkward teen George-Michael Bluth, which he played from 2003 to 2006 in the comedy TV series "Arrested Development." While it was critically-adored at the time, low ratings ended the show after three seasons, but the series has developed a huge cult following in the years since. So huge, in fact, it convinced the gang to reunite for a brand new fourth season to air on Netflix in 2013.

In fact, 2013 looks to be a big year for Cera, who will also appear in "Crystal Fairy" with Gaby Hoffman, "Magic Magic" with Juno Temple, and as himself in "This Is the End" alongside his "Superbad" co-stars Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill, as well as Paul Rudd, Emma Watson, James Franco and Jay Baruchel.
