What do you get when you cross an old country singer with a Dr. Seuss trombone and a teenage pop superstar’s fan base? According to former “Saturday Night Live” star Bill Hader, you apparently get “the greatest trainwreck ever."

Hader recently retired from the famous weekly sketch show after eight years of performing as beloved characters such as cultural correspondent Stefon and film noir actor Vincent Price. But the comedian has now resurfaced alongside “SNL” writers John Solomon and Rob Klein to revisit one of his not-so-bright moments – a scene from Justin Bieber’s episode of “SNL” that no one was supposed to see.

Titled “Song for Daddy,” Hader plays a gravelly-voiced country singer with a unexpectedly experimental song he wrote for his father. Ultimately, “Song for Daddy” never made it passed this first run-through for several reasons, including set mishaps, bad lighting, and material that didn’t get even a snicker from the horde of teenage girls gathered round.

“We did this at the table-read, and this sketch killed! It did all right. We weren’t worried at all,” Hader says, as the video shows a startling lack of response from the audience.

“I will say I still love this even though no one is laughing,” Klein admits.

It seems the failure of “Song for Daddy” was just another part of Bieber’s hosting gig that rubbed Hader the wrong way. The 35-year-old visited Howard Stern’s radio show in May, where he complained about the19-year-old “Believe” singer’s entourage.

"Justin Bieber showed up with like 20 guys ... He had a guy holding a slice of pizza. A guy holding a Diet Coke. You're trying to fight through all these people to get dressed," Hader told Stern.

But that doesn’t change how Hader feels about the sketch that wasn’t meant to be.

“We cherish it, and we hope you do, too. And we’re glad that Justin Bieber … was a part of it,” Hader admits in the video.
