Step aside, Chris Harrison! There's a new "Bachelor" host in town, and his name is Tyler Harcott.

Wait. Who?

You may not be familiar with this 43-year-old Calgarian's name, but you have probably seen the new "Bachelor Canada" host at least once in your TV-watching life.

Harcott has hosted no fewer than 14 shows in Canada and the U.S., most recently the 2011 reality series "Bidding Wars." He also hosted TLC's "Junkyard Wars USA" in 2003 and "Miss America: Countdown to the Crown" in 2009. He happens to be married to another host, Genevieve Gorder, the eponymous designer on HGTV's home design show "Dear Genevieve."

Although Harcott has lived in New York for the past 10 years, the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology alum has been at a secret locale in Canada for the past month filming all of the reality TV drama provided by Canadian "Bachelor" Brad Smith and his 25 bachelorettes.

"If you're in Canada or Cambodia, you put 25 women in a room, you're going to get a lot of drama," Harcott told the Calgary Herald this week.

The Canadian expat revealed he landed the job in a rather unconventional way: by playing with his 4-year-old daughter's dolls.

"I used my daughter's Disney princess dolls and shot a little mock rose ceremony," Harcott said, adding that the Vancouver producers "liked that."

The "Bachelor's" first host teased his new job Monday with various tweets such as, "I have something to tell you..."

It sounds like he's already got the role down pat.

"The Bachelor Canada" debuts on Citytv this fall.
