Justin Bieber isn't the only Canadian who gets to bask in Oprah's glow. Days after she hosted the "Boyfriend" singer on "Oprah's Next Chapter," Winfrey has announced that she is coming to Vancouver, B.C., and Calgary, Alta., in January.

The 58-year-old TV icon will make her first appearance in B.C.'s largest city on Jan. 24, with tickets going on sale this Saturday. The "inspirational evening" -- including personal and professional stories about her life and career -- will be Winfrey's second Canadian tour stop. She hits Calgary two days earlier on Jan. 22.

Despite the former talk show host's successful visit to Toronto in April for her Lifeclass series -- in which she shared various life lessons with her Canadian audience -- Oprah's recent relationship with Canada is a little bit bumpy.

In October, Corus Entertainment (the broadcaster in charge of the Canadian version of OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network) was cited by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission for no longer providing "basic adult education, job development skills or professional development as reflected in its nature of service definition." The Canadian version of OWN was previously called Viva, and the channel's programming mandate reportedly dates back to the 1990s.

Corus issued a statement denying it was in violation of its programming mandate and vowed to explain its position at a hearing on Dec. 11.

Despite this minor rift, Oprah has plenty of other Canadian supporters, including Vancouver filmmaker Nimisha Mukerji, whose 2011 cystic fibrosis documentary "65_RedRoses" was one of the first films to premiere on OWN's Documentary Club in May. The deal was made after Mukerji met the channel's namesake at a party during the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.

"For us it was a game-changer," Mukerji told the Vancouver Sun in April. "If you have the name Oprah attached to your film, it ensured we would get this enormous audience we wouldn't normally have access to. It's like a stamp of approval. It means you've arrived."
