Is Justin Bieber a ‘Canadian Idiot’?

Spoof master Weird Al Yankovich is known for riffing on popular music, but did you know that he wrote a song about Justin Bieber? Well, neither did he.

On Tuesday, "Canadian Idiot" reportedly started trending on Twitter, and those who were not familiar with Weird Al's 2006 song (a parody of Green Day's "American Idiot") were convinced that it referred to the Biebs.

"Canadian Idiot is supposed to be about a song, but we made it into Justin because that's just how we roll," tweeted one super fan.

Another Belieber tried to turn the trend into a compliment.

"Canadian Idiot, but, he's my idiot," tweeted @biebsfixedme.

A third fan of the 18-year-old "Boyfriend" singer seemed to speak for the rest of the Beliebers when he wrote, "U know when you're a belieber when u see 'Canadian Idiot' trending and you think of Justin Bieber."

In fact, "Canadian Idiot," which appeared on Weird Al's 12th album, "Straight Outta Lynwood," parodies the clichéd American view of Canuck life.

"Don't want to be a Canadian idiot/Don’t want to be some beer swillin' hockey nut/And do I look like some frostbitten hosehead?/I never learned my alphabet from A to Zed," the comedian sings.

Reportedly never meant to be released as a single, the tune made it to No. 82 on the Billboard Hot 100, and Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong even weighed in on it.

"I think it's cool," he reportedly said. "Weird Al's a funny guy and I think sometimes he does the song better than the original."

If Bieber heard about the trend, he hasn't mentioned it. Of course, he has had his hands full after landing in the U.K. this weekend for his Believe tour. The Stratford native reportedly hit no fewer than three London clubs on Tuesday night with Black Eyed Peas' and members of local boy band the Wanted.

"loving the UK," he tweeted.

Something tells us Bieber doesn't feel the same way about Weird Al.
