Cobie Smulders might have a hugely successful acting career, but the Vancouver-born actress is still mad that she didn’t get her own doughnut following the Canadian-themed episode of “How I Met Your Mother.”
"I was just pissed off that Jason Priestley got his own frickin' doughnut," Smulders told the Toronto Sun this week. "They [Tim Hortons] made a Jason Priestley [doughnut]. And I was like, 'Well, where's the Robin Sparkles?'"
The Jason Priestley doughnut was part of the Canadianized "How I Met Your Mother" episode -- it was supposedly invented by “Beverly Hills, 90210” star Jason Priestley, who claimed to have created the confection by cramming a Timbit inside of a regular-sized doughnut.
The Priestley quickly went viral, and the Tim Hortons marketing machine cranked into overdrive, recruiting the star to front a new campaign that gave Canadians a chance to create their own sweet treat. The company even cooked up a special batch of Priestleys and tweeted a picture to the 44-year-old star.
Now, Smulders wants in on the action.
"I feel like that [a Robin Sparkles] could be a delicious doughnut," said the 31-year-old actress, who’s still smarting from her sugary slight. "They could put some little sprinkles on top. It's kind of a bummer. Pitch it, guys. Pitch it."
We’re not exactly sure what Smudlers’s signature doughnut would look like, but we reckon if you mash up a Strawberry Vanilla with a Honey Cruller, you’d come close.
