She may be 27 years old, but Carly Rae Jepsen doesn't need a wishing well to look younger. In a new interview with Cosmopolitan, the "Call Me Maybe" singer claims she's "stoked" that people think she looks like a teenager.

"If people think I look younger, then that's great; I'm stoked," Jepsen says in Cosmo's January issue, which hits newsstands Dec. 4. "But I turned 27 in November, and when I look in the mirror, I see all the years attached to that face, and I'm content with me."

Jepsen adds that although she dresses "classy" at home, she adopts a much more youthful wardrobe while on tour.

"I can't dance in 4½-inch heels, so I'll generally sport flats. I'm 5 feet 2, so yeah, I'm going to look a little bit more playful," she explains. "But I don't think that means I'm trying for an age younger than I am."

The B.C. native has been getting flack for her youthful appearance since before she was famous. When Jepsen appeared on "Canadian Idol" in 2007, one of the judges asked if she was "21 going on 14." Sure enough, a comparison between Jepsen now and then shows little has changed beyond her hair style -- she maintains the same chunky bangs, though  her hair is darker and more voluminous these days.

When Jepsen first joined "Idol," her friends reportedly teased her about it until she landed in third place.

"I was so nervous about the whole reality-TV-show thing," she tells Cosmo. "But I'm really glad I did it. I placed third on the show, but the Canadian exposure aligned me with a team that put out my first CD, which in turn got radio time. So I learned that you should knock on every door and not turn your nose up at any opportunity, because you never know what's going to work."
