The hits keep on coming for Justin Bieber.

The 19-year-old pop star has had a tough time while on tour in South America, but the latest news surrounding the pop star doesn't have anything to do with him acting out.

On Wednesday, Bieber took a moment to remember a fan he once met who passed away at the age of 10 from neuroblastoma — a type of nerve cancer that can develop in infants and young children.

"Heard little Jake is up in heaven. The world lost a great kid but I'm grateful I got to meet him. RIP Jake"

The "Girlfriend" singer also included a link to the time he surprised Jake, a fellow Canadian whose wish was to meet Bieber, in November 2011 at the Air Canada Centre.

In the video, Justin — who looks youthful and innocent and was still sporting the "Bieber" haircut he made so popular — meetsJake in the Toronto Maple Leafs locker room where he helps him tie the laces on his hockey skates before revealing a second surprise.

  • 11 Reasons Birthday Boy Ryan Gosling Is So Darn Awesome

Ryan Gosling in March. (Getty Images)Not only is today 11/12/13 — sparking a surge at casinos and in lottery ticket sales — it's also the 33rd birthday of Ryan Gosling, a true jackpot in the eyes of ladies (and some men) everywhere.

It's hard to pinpoint exactly when the Canadian export made the jump from Mouseketeer to Meme King, but his role in 2004's "The Notebook" (and real-life relationship with co-star Rachel McAdams) certainly propelled him on the way and, by 2008, the "F--k Yeah! Ryan Gosling" Tumblr blog, featuring photos of the actor with swoony captions beginning with the words "Hey, girl," was born. Suddenly kittens were no longer the cutest, cuddliest things on the Internet!

In celebration of the Gos's big day, which we can only assume he's spending celebrating with gal pal Eva Mendes, we present you with 11 reasons he's so gosh darn awesome. And, yes, it took an amazing amount of sweat and tears to whittle the list down to such a small number.

    1. Well, let's start with this. Pardon our total superficiality, but come on. How can these abs not be celebrated? They are a true masterpiece.

    2. He's in touch with his feminine side. When he landed his role in "The Mickey Mouse Club" (along with Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera), he moved from Ontario to Florida with his mother, Donna, while his father stayed up north. His parents eventually divorced and he and his sister, Mandi, were raised by their mom.

"I think like a girl, I think. I was literally raised by my mother and my sister. And I feel like I wouldn't know how to think any other way," he told the British newspaper The Independent. "My sister was my best friend and my hero growing up. Because I was home-schooled, I didn't have a lot of friends and I did ballet, which was always just girls. All that stuff had an effect on my brain."

    3. He's a real-life superhero. Step aside, Ben Affleck! The "Lars and the Real Girl" and "Blue Valentine" star doesn't need a movie role to get him saving lives. In 2012, British journalist Laurie Penny was crossing a Manhattan street and was almost road kill until Super Gosling saved the day.

"I literally, LITERALLY just got saved from a car by Ryan Gosling. Literally. That actually just happened," she tweeted. "I was crossing 6th avenue in a new pink wig. Not looking the right way because I am from London. Ryan Gosling grabbed me away from a taxi." She didn't realize it was the actor until it was "confirmed by girl near me, who said 'you lucky b---h.'" Indeed.

    4. He's an international peace negotiator. Why didn't he replace Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State we'll never know. In 2011, the “Drive" star was walking home from a Manhattan gym when he saw two men fighting in the street and he intervened. Was it his cut arms in his striped tank top? The way he blinked his baby blues? Either way, he helped diffuse the drama — and excite the spectators on the sidewalk who burst into a fit of giggles to see "'The Notebook' guy" breaking up the spat.

    5. His dog is just as cool as he is. Does your dog have a Mohawk? Wear socks? Eat apples? Appear on late night TV? Have Eva Mendes as a dog walker? Didn't think so. George Gosling, Ryan's canine companion for the last 11 years, is as cool as he is. The dog is winning.

    6. He inspires copycats. Every few months there seems to be a new "Ryan Gosling look-alike" — none of which really live up to the real deal. In the news today is Grant Hazell, a 35-year-old professional Ryan Gosling fake, who can earn hundreds a day portraying the star at hired gigs in Australia. In June it was a kid named Doug in Detroit. And don't forget about Joey Thompson and his "Guide to Looking like Ryan Gosling."

Sorry boys – you just don't compare.

    7. He's like a real-life Mr. Miyagi. During an interview earlier this year, he caught a fly mid-sentence and it didn't break his train of thought. Nothing flusters this movie star — not even pesky insects.

    8. He makes fun of himself. Did ya see him reading his own "Hey Girl" memes? In between his fits of laughter, he listed some of his faves, including this infamous "Golden Girls" one. We laughed with him, at him, and then laughed some more.

  • The Dixie Chicks are not ready to make nice with Rob Ford. The "Not Ready to Make Nice" singers poked fun at Toronto's controversial mayor over the weekend during the Hamilton, Ont., stop of their Long Time Gone tour.

On Saturday night, lead singer Natalie Maines brought up Ford after telling the Copps Coliseum crowd that she had read a survey claiming Canadians are some of the happiest people in the world. She took the opportunity to do some good-natured teasing of the Toronto mayor, who is currently embroiled in several scandals, including his recent admission that he smoked crack during a "drunken stupor."

"You seem a lot less happy since all this stuff with Mayor Ford went down," Maines said, according to the Hamilton Spectator. "Surprisingly, knowing that Canada has a little political controversy makes me happy."

The 39-year-old songstress then went on to dedicate the band's song "Sin Wagon" to the beleaguered politico.

"Wherever Mayor Ford is tonight, whatever he's smoking, we send this song out to him," Maines said.

Justin Bieber should stick to singing and leave the graffiti to Banksy. The 19-year-old pop star is once again under fire in South America after spray-painting a monkey-like image on a Brazilian building.

The "Boyfriend" singer was reportedly charged with vandalism last week after police said he illegally painted a hotel in Rio de Janeiro. Now, Bieber's being lambasted for uploading a photo of himself spray-painting what has been deemed a racist image of a black monkey with a nose ring and a necklace. "This is my escape," Bieber captioned the image.

The controversy comes on the heels of his Bogota graffiti session last week, in which he reportedly tagged a wall on one of Colombia's main streets, only to be taken away by police.

Avril Lavigne may have looked wild at her album release party on Tuesday, but she wants the world to know she's actually very ho-hum.

The Canadian "Hush Hush" singer was photographed on Tuesday in New York dancing with a knife around a cake to celebrate the release of her self-titled fifth album. But Lavigne would have been a lot happier sitting in a corner, according to her new interview with Parade magazine.

“That’s the hardest part of my job! I am introverted, and my job requires me to be extroverted," she said, adding, "It requires a lot of energy. I’m more of a quiet, calm, sit-in-a-corner-and-be-by myself kind of [person]."

In fact, the 29-year-old pop star moved to Paris last summer to study French and basked in her anonymity. “When you’re in L.A., people are watching for musicians and actors,” she told Parade. “But in France, people aren’t really expecting that. So I was able to just get around and hide -- I’m very short! I could kind of just do my thing."

Celine Dion began her career in the music industry in the 1980s, but she's admitting to "omg! Insider" Special Correspondent Jenny Hutt that if she had to, she wouldn't start her career all over again due to the nature of show business today.

"I just feel like they're pressuring the kids even more," the mother of three said. "You can't just sing great, you have to have it all, and I wouldn't start my career today."

  • Tyra Banks thinks Drake engaged in the worst behavior when he publicly revealed a private date they had together.

On "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in September, the Canadian "Worst Behavior" singer admitted he went out with the supermodel.

"We went to Disneyland in disguise, actually, which was fun," Drake told Ellen DeGeneres. "I don't know if it was a date; it was like a get-together."

But as it turns out, Banks wore a disguise for a reason: She wanted to keep their hangout a secret. And she said -- or, rather, rapped -- as much in a recent appearance on "The Steve Harvey Show."

"Bad Day"? More like bad weekend for Justin Bieber in Brazil.

The 19-year-old Canadian pop star, who just dropped his new single "Bad Day," was not only allegedly photographed coming out of a brothel in Rio de Janeiro this weekend, but Bieber also had a bottle thrown at him during a concert in São Paulo.

According to the Telegraph, the Biebs cut his gig short on Saturday when a rowdy audience member launched a water bottle at him during the show -- it's unclear whether this was related to Bieber kicking a Brazilian flag off the stage earlier on in the concert after a fan threw it there. A video of the incident showed the shirtless Ontario native singing "Boyfriend" before a blue bottle hit his mike-holding hand. He can be seen giving the crowd a confrontational look before turning around and walking offstage.

The Biebs' fans reportedly waited for half an hour for him to resume the show. "The public called for him, sang 'Baby,' and yet nothing," wrote a journalist on the Brazilian website G7, according to the Telegraph. "The lights came on, Bieber's team started to take the equipment away and the fans realized it wasn't going to happen."

Oddly enough, the singer himself, who performed in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, seemed satisfied with the show.

Earlier this week, Hayden Christensen not only launched his new clothing line for RW&CO., but he also debuted some new facial hair.

The 32-year-old "Star Wars" lead looked a little different than we remembered when he hit the red carpet with scruffy beard and moustache. The actor was promoting his new fashion line, Hayden Christensen for RW&CO., at the Toronto Eaton Center on Wednesday.

Christensen also happened to be dressed entirely from the men's line, though he admitted that he was thinking about women when he was designing the 20-piece collection.
