Taylor Swift stopped by “El Hormiguero”in Madrid, Spain, on Wednesday to promote her latest album “Red,” so naturally the country singer had to play along and answer a few personal questions, too.
“I don’t have a type,” Swift said, talking about what kind of guy gets her attention. “I think in our 20’s it’s like, ‘Oh, I guess I’ll try hanging out with him, or I’ll try hanging out with him, or I’ll try being single.’”
The 23-year-old is currently single following her split with One Direction singer Harry Styles, although some people think they might not be completely over for good.
“I think you have to have somebody that’s dependable, that isn’t going to change their mind every five seconds,” Swift said about important characteristics for her to find in a partner. “I think that loyalty is something that’s really important in your friends, in your relationships, in your family.”
Could the “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer be hinting at what led to her and Styles’ split? As our sister site omg! U.K. exclusively reported, Styles was in contact with his ex-flame, model Cara Delevingne, while romancing Taylor Swift.
While Swift didn’t address Styles specifically during yesterday’s sit down she did poke fun at some of the biggest (and false) rumors out there about her.
“People say that I’m buying houses all the time that I’m not buying. It’s like… every time the press thinks I like a guy they say I am buying a house next to them,” Swift laughed. “And also they think they know what I’m getting people for Christmas, which they don’t. I was thinking when I saw that one that if they actually got it right I would be so sad because they would have blown my Christmas present, but they were all wrong.”
Radar Online reported in December that Taylor Swift was house hunting near Styles’ home London, while the Daily Star claimed that for Christmas she was getting $80,000 worth of Beatles memorabilia for her One Direction beau.
With the whole world watching her every move (and every romance) it seems that Taylor is trying to take it all in stride:
“I think for me, I try not to focus on whether there are cameras or what people are gonna say. I think you have to live a life rather than care too much what people think about it.”
While a Haylor reunion looms — they are both expected at the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes, France, on Saturday — Swift may have dropped more hints about whether she would ever ever get back together with her ex.
“I think once a relationship is done it’s done, you can’t do that back and forth thing it’s the most exhausting process,” Swift said while discussing her infamous single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” yesterday. “Maybe I wrote that song then so I would never get back in that relationship. If you write that about it there is no way you are getting back together!”
We all know by now that Swift and her then-subject, Jake Gyllenhaal, are never getting back together, but is the Haylor song finished yet? We’ll just have to wait and see.
