Suri Cruise is now 7, and she bears a striking resemblance to mom Katie Holmes — especially judging by a photo the actress tweeted this week. Holmes marked Throwback Thursday with a vintage photo of herself at 7, the same age Suri is now. Unsurprisingly, the two share more than a passing resemblance.

Before the 35-year-old actress became Mrs. Tom Cruise, Holmes was the youngest of five growing up in Toledo, Ohio. She performed in various high school musicals before acquiring an agent, who helped her land her first role as a prep school beauty in the 1997 film "The Ice Storm."
Of course, most people know her best as Joey Potter in the beloved WB series "Dawson's Creek." She played Joey from 1998 to 2003, but it's a role she nearly missed because of a school conflict.
"I was doing my school play, 'Damn Yankees,' and I was playing Lola. I even got to wear the feather boa. I thought, 'There is no way I'm not playing Lola to go audition for some network.' I couldn't let my school down. We had already sold a lot of tickets. So I told Kevin and The WB, 'I'm sorry. I just can't meet with you this week. I've got other commitments,'" Holmes told the Chicago Sun-Times in, 1999, according to ABC News.
Holmes ended up auditioning for the show via video.
"On my desk I still keep the very first photo of Katie when she came to 'Dawson's Creek,'" Kevin Williamson told Movieline in 2002. "Those eyes, they anchored the show for the first two seasons. The editors called her 'Cut-to Katie,' because whenever we were having problems compiling footage we cut to those eyes. It always worked."
After moving on to the big screen, Holmes took on the biggest role of her career: Cruise's wife. The duo wed in 2006 after a whirlwind romance, and Holmes gave birth to Suri that same year. But the couple divorced in 2012, and Holmes has been slowly making her way back to movies. Most recently, she was in South Africa filming "The Giver," co-starring Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep.
