  • Ever Wonder: How Did Beyoncé Get Her Unusual First Name?

(Photo: Charles Eshelman)Say my name! It’s become a household term at this point—but have you ever wondered what was the inspiration behind Beyonce’s unique moniker?

No need to be mystified any longer. According to Bey’s own family, there’s actually a quite logical explanation. At Tuesday’s premiere of Beyonce’s biopic documentary, Life Is But A Dream, her maternal uncle Roland Beyince gave the scoop.

As you've probably already guessed by now, the name was a twist on Beyonce's mom's maiden name. “My sister Tina [Knowles] didn’t think we had enough boys in the family to keep the name going, so she gave Beyoncé our last name as the first name,” Uncle Roland explained.

Of course, it’s not an exact match, but we think "Beyoncé" has much more of a lilt to it than "Beyince"—don’t you?

  • Justin Bieber Irked By Black Keys Drummer, Says He Should Be ‘Slapped Around’

Justin Bieber (Photo: Theo Wargo)If you haven't heard by now: Justin Bieber is upset that he was shut out of the 2013 Grammys. And the superstar isn’t taking kindly to those who suggest he really doesn’t have much to complain about.

When Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney—whose band scooped up four Grammy Awards on Sunday—told TMZ that Bieber should be happy because “The Grammys are for music, not money…he’s making a lot of money,” the Biebs responded swiftly on Twitter.

“The black keys drummer should be slapped around,” he tweeted.

Bieber softened his statement somewhat by adding “haha” at the end, but…well, we all know how these sorts of social media wars go.

Fan response was swift, with the expected plentiful support from Beliebers—although many took Bieber to task for being rude and promoting violence.

Patrick Carney (Photo: Jason LaVeris)For his part, Carney responded to Bieber’s tweet with a frowning emoticon, following it with a string of retweets from angry Bieber fans. Sentiments ranged from mere disapproval (“I no longer like you nor do I like

We're sure Bieber wasn't deliberately mocking Gaga with the gesture. But, regardless, the pop superstar has definitively stolen the crown from longtime holder Gaga--who has held the social media honor since 2010--on Monday night. As of this posting, he has 33, 337,997 Beliebers following him; while Gaga “only” has 33, 332, 282 Little Monsters on her trail.

According to Twittercounter, which provides detailed stats on the outlet’s top 100 most followed people, Bieber is adding new followers at an average rate of about 37,000 daily. Since Gaga is close on his heels with around 29K new friends a day, we probably can expect to see the two artists’ first-and-second places flip-flop back and forth at least few

Rimes performed the new song, the first single off her upcoming album Spitfire, on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno Tuesday night. The lyrics are very obviously about entanglement with a married man: "I wanna hold out, but I hold on / Even though I know it's wrong / Cause I don't want to give you back / I don't wanna give you back / You’re the best I ever had / So I don't want to give you back / But you’re borrowed."

Rimes has discussed her involvement with Cibrian--both were married to their respective spouses when the affair began--extensively in the media over the past few years. She accordingly took on the subject with Leno, admitting the song is about Cibrian and that "it's a very intimate look at a very
