When the United States Supreme Court handed down their rulings Wednesday concerning same-sex marriage, it was reason for many to celebrate ― including Kristen Bell.
The 32-year-old actress and her TV star beau Dax Shepard, who welcomed daughter Lincoln in March, memorably declared that they wouldn't marry until it was legal for everyone in their state. So, following the news that the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which restricts federal marriage benefits to opposite-sex couples, had been ruled invalid and the appeal of California's Prop 8 was dismissed, the "Veronica Mars" star popped the question to Shepard on Twitter.

Shepard, 38, quickly accepted.
While Bell and Shepard were the first celeb couple to announce their wedding plans after the ruling, they weren't the only ones! In a series of tweets, singer Melissa Etheridge, 52, shared the happy news that she will marry her TV writer girlfriend, Linda Wallem.
