It's a big moment in any actor's career to be accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science, and the same goes for "Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence, who recently received the honour. But it's the actress's mother who actually seems the most excited.
While appearing on the "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" this week, 22-year-old Lawrence broke into her best Kentucky accent while describing how her mother received an Oscar ballot at their home. Obviously, it was meant for the younger Lawrence lady, who's currently getting a lot of Oscar buzz for her role as a mentally-disturbed widow in "Silver Linings Playbook." But that didn't stop Mama Lawrence from giving the Academy her two cents and voting in place of her daughter.
"She thought I'd be like, 'Ha ha ha ha, that's hilarious. I'm going to get kicked out of the Academy,'" Lawrence dryly joked with DeGeneres. "Fortunately, she did it wrong. I think she mailed it back to herself. So I got to do it again."
Lawrence didn't reveal who her nomination picks were for the 85th Academy Awards, which will be hosted by "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane, but she was clear that she disagreed with her mom's preferences.

Still, Lawrence apparently didn't stay mad at her mother too long. The young starlet was spotted at LAX on Tuesday on her way to Hawaii, where she'll spend Thanksgiving with her family.
"My dad won't have a deep fryer so I don't know what he's going to do," she told E! News.
So, even though her career is reaching new heights with an potential Oscar nod, acceptance into the Academy, filming the "Hunger Games" sequel, Lawrence's loved ones remain heavily involved in her life. Nice to know that some celebrities can still stay grounded.
